Résumé

Relationship between incentive (money) and socioeconomical status is studied. Three incentive conditions (zero, five and twenty pesos) and the three traditional social classes, low, medium, high, determined by an anthropological type questionnaire involving common-use home objects. The task, to cross out “ c” letters in an English written paragraph, scored on time and right guesses. Results: analysis of variance shows no significant main effect for social class, neither on time nor right guess. Incentive effect significant (p < .01) on time only and interaction significant for both (p < .05), time and right guess).
